Viagra a Treatment for Priapism

Dr. Burnett and colleagues at Johns Hopkins University studied a total of 4 men, three with sickle-cell disease and one idiopathic with frequent history of Priapism and administered either sildenafil citrate (25 or 50 mg) every morning or tadalafil (5 mg) three times weekly on a long-term basis. The continuous 3 to 11 months of following and treatment resulted in significant reduction in the episodes of Priapism from rare to occasional. The group of doctors and researchers said that the treatment with the PDE5 inhibitors resets the dysregulation, thereby restoring normal function and protects against future recurrence.

Due to sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil, the threatening terms ‘impotency’, ‘erectile dysfunction’, ‘priapism’ will soon extinct from medical as well as male dictionary.
