| A Ruling By German Court Disqualifies Civil Servants Opting For Viagra
Date:30th May 2008
After announcing a verdict in 2003 that German civil servants using Viagra are entitled for state assistance, the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig has announced a latest ruling that civil servants using the anti-impotency medicine Viagra are not qualified to assist the state even though they are prescribed the medicine to undertake treatment of a specific illness.
The German civil servants are entitled to health insurance that provide them state support but after the 2003 verdict announced by the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig. And now, with its latest verdict stating that civil servants taking Viagra are not qualified for state assistance, the court has said that the government needs to change the rules once again as soon as the current legislative period ends next year as these regulations don’t support the constitutional law.
The court also makes it clear that if the government doesn’t succeed in changing the rules, the court wouldn’t be left with any option other than deciding on applications to state support.
