| Pfizer Incl. Joins Hands with South Korea to Invest US$300 million In R&D Projects

With the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Pfizer Incl.'s chief executive officer Jeff Kindler and South Korea's Vice Welfare Minister Byun Jae-jin, a deal is finalized between South Korea and Pfizer, the manufacturer of the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra. According to this treaty, Pfizer, the world's largest drug manufacturing company and South Korea would come up together to invest a whopping sum of US$300 million in joint research and development(R&D) in the next five years.
According to a revelation by South Korea 's welfare ministry, the agreement further spells out the joint research and development initiative with local research centers till 2012.
Jeff Kindler has arrived in Korea and it is known that he would make an appearance at the Kaesong Hospital in the inter-Korean industrial park. Further plans by Jeff Kindler include three day visit to local research centers alongside the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology for the discussion of joint research and development projects.
