| Pfizer Is Ready To Sue Pumpkin Seed Oil Producer For Manufacturing Candies Resembling Viagra
Date: 15th November 2008
Pfizer Incl., the manufacturer of the anti-impotency medicine Viagra, is reportedly gearing up to sue a pumpkin seed oil producer, Richard Mandl, for manufacturing "Styriagra", pumpkin seeds coated with chocolate. These pumpkin seeds are oval-sized light blue candies that have the appearance of the erectile dysfunction medicine Viagra in name as well as in color and for this reason; Pfizer would possibly file a lawsuit against Richard Mandl.
However, in response to Pfizer`s accusation, Richard Mandl states that the name Styriagra" is just a combination of the words "Styria" and agra,". Styria basically refers to the southern Austrian province where Richard Mandl works and is popular for the pumpkin seed oil available here and Agra means agricultural/organic products.
Sources reveal that Pfizer lncl. is planning to claim a compensation amount of around 36,000 euros (45,640 dollars) from the Austrian pumpkin seed oil manufacturer and the accused Richard Mandl, who has registered the trademark "Styriagra" by now, makes it apparent that he is ready to defend his product in court.
