| Police Arrests Hobbs Man Carrying Viagra

A Hobbs man, Douglas Edens carrying a cooler full of beer and the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra was reportedly handcuffed by Curry County Sheriff’s Office investigators in an undercover operation when he arrived at Clovis to meet a girl whom he befriended online. It is further reported that the Hobbs man was arrested on the serious felony charge of child solicitation. The accused Douglas Edens was a power plant operator and after his arrest, he was detained at the Curry County Adult Detention Center on a personal bond of $20,000.
Concerning the Viagra bottle that was retrieved from Douglas Edens, investigators reveal that a thorough search of Edens’ pickup truck exposed the Viagra bottle and a handgun. The investigators have also made it apparent that Viagra prescription was filled on Tuesday, 3rd June and one from amongst the six pills present in the bottle was missing.
Douglas Edens was reportedly arrested from North Plains Mall where he had gone and made a call to the girl from a payphone to inform her that he wanted to meet her outside the mall. As soon as he made this call and went out of the mall, he was immediately handcuffed by law enforcement agencies.
However, District Attorney Matt Chandler reveals that if Douglas Edens is convicted on the charge of child solicitation, a prison sentence of around 18 years is likely to be slapped on him.
According to the investigators, Douglas Edens started his online chatting with the decoy girl on 30th May and since then pestering her to meet him sporting a miniskirt. As revealed by the investigators, it has also become clear that through online chatting, Douglas Edens conveyed this message to the girl that he wanted to have sexual intercourse with her.
