| The Authenticity of Viagra Online Becomes Highly Dubious
Date: June 22, 2006
It has been recently discovered that fake versions of prescription drugs like viagra are extensively available on the internet which has become a serious threat to the health of millions of online drug users. On 21st June UK trading officers warned that a vast amount of drugs available on the internet were likely to be fake and some might contain active components disproportionately. Again, it has also been hinted at by the investigative officers that after being ordered there is immense possibility of the drugs not being delivered at all.
The investigative officers from Oxfordshire and Worcestershire carried off their investigation by purchasing drugs like viagra, Tamiflu, Prozac and Valium from various foreign websites. In total 20 drugs were bought and their authentication was tested. Among these drugs there were many without a single bit of information on the manufacturer or supplier.
In the UK, the official drug regulators are fighting tooth and nail to curb on the million dollar illegal business of online drugs like viagra, Levitra, sleeping pills and anti-depressants. These drugs are increasingly sought after as they are delivered instantly along with the assurance of complete secrecy.
On getting to know the results arising out of this investigation, The Royal College of General Practitioners has made it clear that overdosing or misusing these drugs is likely to invite serious health hazards including death. Dr Jim Kennedy, chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners Prescribing Group has further stated that the prescription drugs experimented upon can be easily misused or abused and many adverse side-effects may also occur from them.
