Viagra Piracy On Drastic Rise In China

Recently in China the greatest incident of fake drug piracy came to light with a person named Xi and his associates convicted guilty of manufacturing 60 tonnes Viagra pills without the permission of Pfizer, the authorized Viagra manufacturer.
According to a report revealed by the Xinhua news agency, Xi And his accomplices started the operation of manufacturing fake drugs in may 2001 by taking a pharmaceutical factory on rent and registering it as company dealing in food stuff. The culprit carried on the business of illegal drug production by mixing Slidenafil with sugar and other ingredients and making pills.
As stated by confidential sources, after the conviction of the accused, he was trialed at the Bangbu intermediate court and imprisoned for a period of eight years. The fake drugs manufactured by Xi and his accomplices brought more than 21m yuan (£1.5m) by the time he was arrested by the police.
In a cautioning note by trade negotiators and medical experts it is being revealed that the problem of counterfeit drugs continues to evolve as a threatening epidemic in China by putting health at risk.
