Chances of Female Viagra Not Before 2012
Date: December 20, 2005
Viagra was launched in India yesterday. With this Viagra was launched in India by Pfizer, seven years later than it was launched in the US .
Dr. Peter Ellis, the executive director of Pfizer , UK , said that women have to wait a little longer for the female equivalent of Viagra. A similar pill is nowhere in the scene right now because for women there is no quick fix solution like Viagra. Dr. Peter Ellis confessed that although the market potentiality for a female version of Viagra is a huge one but he also said that "it is not easy to develop a drug that will work like Viagra."
The female anatomy and the factors responsible behind the so called sexual dysfunction are: desire, arousal and pain during sexual intercourse and a woman is sexually unsatisfied not just due to one, but a combination of these factors. If a man suffers from sexual dysfunction it is a blot on his masculinity but for a woman, non-performance is not the issue. The issue is of enjoying sex. Even if she doesn't enjoy sex, she would still be able to have passive sex.
Studies and trials for developing such a drug are on at Pfizer's UK laboratory at Sandwich in Kent . "If everything goes well, which is very unlikely, the first molecule should be ready by 2012," Ellis added.
