Taipei Police Confiscate Illegal Drugs Worth NT$300 million

A huge batch of medicines, mainly containing the street drug and other illicit drugs were caught by the police as reported by the Criminal Investigation Bureau announced on Thursday. This big haul of counterfeit drugs that was seized in Taipei country consisted of more than 550,000 capsules and pills with a street value of 9.09 million US Dollars.
The seized counterfeit medicines, including the well-known weight-loss drug Reductil (Sibutramine) and drugs for the treatment of erectile dysfunction -- Viagra and Cialis - were the largest contributors to the grey market of the largest smuggled medicines in the recent years as reported by the Criminal Investigation Bureau officials.
CIB investigators raided a warehouse in Hsichih, Taipei County Wednesday night seized the drugs, which included 50,000 tablets of the anti-obesity medicine Reductil (Sibutramine), more than 50,000 tablets of Viagra, over 70,000 tablets of Cialis, more than 100,000 tablets of medicine for colds, 20,000 tablets of the gastrointestinal medicine Zantac, 70,000 tablets of controlled hypnotics Stilnox, and some 210,000 unknown pills.
